Open it from the Selection Wheel or the feature bar (or bind it a key in Overlays → Hotkeys). A small always-on-top panel appears with the route for the zone you are in, and it moves itself along as you play.
How it knows where you are
PoE2 writes a line to its Client.txt log file every time you enter an area. ePOE watches that file and matches the zone name against the route, then advances the panel. No memory reading, no screen capture, no input — just tailing a log the game already writes.
If it never advances:
- Check the Client.txt path under Settings → General → Path of Exile 2. Auto-detection covers the standard install locations; a custom install directory or a non-Steam launcher may need it set by hand.
- Confirm Read Client.txt is on under Settings → Price checks → Behaviour. It gates this, the whisper widget, and the XP features together.
What is on the panel
- The current zone's steps — where to go, what to pick up, which quest reward to take.
- Session timer — elapsed time for this play session.
- Manual navigation so you can step forward or back when you take a detour or the log misses a transition.
- Recommended farming zones — up to three zones known for fast campaign experience that you have not out-levelled yet, with the level each one suits. Steps in a good farming zone carry a Farm zone tag. Use them when you are underlevelled rather than pushing on.
Complete and undo from the keyboard
Two hotkeys tick steps off without touching the mouse. Both are unbound by default — set them under Overlays → Hotkeys → Overlay widgets:
- Leveling: Complete Step ticks the first unticked step of the zone you are in.
- Leveling: Undo Step unticks the furthest completed step of the current act, for when you ticked one too many.
They act on the open leveling tracker, so show it first with its own hotkey.
It is a separate movable window, not part of the price-check card, so it stays visible whether or not the overlay panel is open. Drag it where it does not cover anything you need; the position is remembered.
The Leveling page in the app has the same route in full, plus the quest passive-point list — useful for planning before you start, and for checking you have not missed a permanent reward.
Making it actually useful
Put it where you will read it. A tracker you have to look for is a tracker you ignore. Bottom-left, near the minimap, works for most layouts.
Do not follow it off a cliff. A route is a default, not an instruction. If you are underlevelled, the answer is to clear a zone you skipped, not to push on because the panel says to.
Use the timer as feedback, not a target. Comparing your act times across characters tells you where you actually lose time — which is almost never where you think. Racing your own timer while learning a new build is how you die at level 40.
Turn off the attach toast if it distracts you. Settings → Appearance has the switch.
The quest passives
Quest rewards that grant permanent passive points are the highest-value things in the campaign and the easiest to miss on a fast run. The Leveling page lists all of them. Check it once at the end of each act — recovering a missed quest reward later means going back through a zone you have no other reason to visit.
