The Expedition hub is a set of tools that each handle one part of an Expedition run. Rumours tells you whether a tile is worth a Saga. The Chain planner orders your explosives, Remnants values each Remnant before you pick, Runs keeps the logbook, and Recipes tracks the runes you are saving for a Boon. This guide shows where each one lives and when to reach for it. The detailed guides are linked at the end.
Where everything is
Open Expedition in the dashboard rail. The hub lands on Runs, and its tabs are Runs, Rumours, Remnants, Chain, Recipes and Rune Scout. Rumours, Remnants and Chain carry a Beta pill.
Four of the tools also open as windows over the game. Their overlays are on by default under Overlays → Overlays, and their hotkeys come bound. Change the keys under Overlays → Hotkeys → Tool windows:
- Expedition Rumour Scan, Ctrl+Alt+X: reads the hovered Uncharted Waters tile and opens the rumour tracker.
- Expedition Remnant, Ctrl+Alt+G: reads the open Runeshape Combinations list and opens the Remnant window.
- Expedition Chain Planner, Ctrl+Alt+H: opens or closes the Chain planner.
- Rune Scout, Ctrl+Alt+L: opens or closes Rune Scout.
Their Feature Bar buttons, Expedition Rumours, Expedition Remnant, Expedition Chain and Rune Scout, are off by default. To launch them from the bar or the Selection Wheel, open the pinned Feature Bar page and switch them on under Buttons.
Runs and Recipes have no window or hotkey of their own. Press Open Dashboard (Ctrl+Alt+E) and pick the tab.
Before you start
Leave Read Client.txt on under Settings → Price Checks → Behavior. It is on by default. Path of Exile 2 writes every area you enter to that log, and the hub reads it to:
- start and end runs on the Runs tab;
- fill in the area level that recipes and Remnant picks depend on;
- start a fresh rumour pool when you enter an island;
- clear Propagating this run when a new island begins.
Rune and reward values come from ePOE's market cache for your league. The recipe book itself ships with the app and works offline. Rumours, Remnant rows and Expedition NPC lines are all read in your game client's language.
Through a run
On the Atlas: Rumours
Hover an Uncharted Waters tile and press Ctrl+Alt+X. The tracker reads the tile's Island Rumours and pools them across re-rolls. A banner then says Use a Saga or Keep rolling under your Saga rule. Larky's default rule is five Grand Expedition rumours. If screen reading lets you down, tick the rumours on the bingo grid. It works in any game language.
At the site: the Chain planner
Press Ctrl+Alt+H and drop the site's Remnants on the Map canvas, or switch to List and click each rune as it propagates. Set Explosives In Hand, and Recommended order gives you the detonation plan. While you play, Mark Placed, Detonate Placed and Undo Place keep the plan in step with the game.
At each Remnant: Remnants
Click a Remnant in game so its Runeshape Combinations list is open, then press Ctrl+Alt+G. Every recipe on the list is valued, the Best pick is marked, and the values are painted over the game. With Auto-capture My In-game Pick on (the default), ePOE notices which row you take and records its propagating rune. It only watches your clicks and never sends input to the game.
The whole time: Runs
Open a Logbook, a boss island or a rumour map and the Current run starts by itself. It shows the area level, caves, deaths and detonations. When you leave, the run moves into Run history and into the This session and All time totals.
Between runs: Recipes and Boons
The Recipes tab holds all 322 Runeshape recipes, with search, filters and market values. Under Boon sequences, mark the runes you hold. Each 10-rune sequence (the four Boons, Aldur's Legacy and Krillson's Bay Key) then shows how many runes you are still missing. The Remnants tab uses the same runes for its Boon progress.
Rune rewards: Rune Scout
When a reward panel offers you runes, press Ctrl+Alt+L and then Scan Rune Rewards. Rune Scout reads each row, prices it and marks the best pick over the game. The marks stay up for Settings → Appearance → Scan Highlight Duration, which is 8 seconds by default.
One run feeds the next
The tools share what they learn during a run:
- A pick you confirm on Remnants (with I Took This, or automatically) and a detonation on the Chain both land in Propagating this run. That list shows on both tabs, and both value later picks with it: the same rune twice adds nothing.
- Runs tracks the island, and entering a new island resets the propagating runes and the chain.
- My runes on Recipes feeds the Boon progress on Remnants.
Two rules are fixed, from Larky's testing. A rune propagated twice adds nothing, and Bond and Life are never worth propagating because they are bugged.
What stays on this PC
Your run history, rumour pool, Saga rule, chain, propagating runes and My runes are saved on this PC. They are not synced. Your hotkeys and the Auto-capture My In-game Pick setting do ride Cloud Settings Sync (Settings → Privacy) to your other machines.
When a read goes wrong
Rumours, Remnants, the Chain planner's screen reading and Rune Scout all read pixels only. They never read game memory and never click for you. If one misreads, fix it by hand: tick the bingo grid, use Pick By Hand, or edit the Remnant. With Send failed reads on under Settings → Privacy, a failed scan also offers Send This Failed Read, which sends that one image to ePOE so recognition can be improved.
