The Selection Wheel is a ring of your tools that opens centred on your cursor. It is the alternative to the Feature Bar for people who would rather not have a strip on screen: nothing is drawn until you ask, and whatever you want is one flick of the mouse away.
Turning it on
The wheel is not active out of the box. Under Overlays → Overlays → Feature Bar, Launcher decides which in-game launcher exists:
- Feature Bar (the default) — the strip only. The wheel hotkey does nothing.
- Selection Wheel — the wheel only; the strip is hidden.
- Both — the strip stays, and the wheel hotkey works too.
Switching on the Selection Wheel row in the same list does the same thing: it moves the launcher to Both and leaves your bar where it was.
Opening it
The default hotkey is Ctrl+Alt+Space. Hotkey behaviour on the Selection Wheel pane picks how it responds:
- Toggle (the default) — press to open, press again to close. Pick a tool at your leisure.
- Hold — the wheel stays open while the key is down, and whatever you are pointing at launches when you let go. Fastest once it is in muscle memory.
The hotkey can be a mouse button. A mouse binding always behaves as Toggle, because hold mode needs a key release to watch for.
Using the ring
- Point at a spoke to highlight it, click to launch it.
- Arrow keys step around the ring; Enter launches the highlighted spoke.
- Escape, or clicking outside the ring, closes it.
Each spoke shows that tool's own hotkey, or "No hotkey". The spokes are the same tools as the Feature Bar's Buttons list, minus any overlay you switched off — the two launchers always agree. To change what the wheel offers, edit that list.
From a controller
With controller support, the default chord is View + RS (click the right stick while holding View).
- In Toggle mode, keep holding View and use the D-pad or left stick to step around the ring, then View + A to launch or View + B to close.
- In Hold mode, keep the chord held, step with the D-pad, and let go of the right stick to launch the highlighted spoke.
With exclusive mode on, you do not need to hold View while the wheel is open.
Favourites
Favourites is a short list of the things you reach for most: tools you starred on the Dashboard home, and searches you saved in the Trade Link Builder (shown as "Trade search" with their league). Picking a row opens that tool — or that saved search — exactly as its own button would.
Three ways to open it:
- The Favourites spoke on the wheel. It is added automatically, so the list is always one step away. Escape or Back returns to the ring.
- The Favourites hotkey — unbound by default. Give it a key under Overlays → Hotkeys to jump straight to the list.
- The Favourites button on the Feature Bar, which ships switched off. Turn it on under Feature Bar → Buttons.
The hotkey and the bar button work whichever launcher you use, even with the wheel itself switched off. The list opens at your cursor; Escape closes it.
Tips
- Hold mode plus a thumb-reachable key is the fastest launcher ePOE has. Two tools you use constantly still deserve their own hotkeys.
- Keep the list short. A ring with twenty spokes is slower to aim at than one with eight. Trim the Feature Bar's Buttons list and let Favourites carry the rest.
All hotkeys above are defaults and can be rebound under Overlays → Hotkeys.
