ePOE sends anonymous usage data and crash reports by default, so bugs get fixed and the features people actually use get the attention. One switch — Product Telemetry — controls all of it, and it also unlocks Sharing Perks. Nothing it sends is linked to your epoe.io account.
Turn it off
- Open Settings (the gear on the left rail).
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Switch Product Telemetry off.
That takes effect immediately: usage data and crash reports both stop, and anything still waiting to be sent is discarded instead of being sent later.
What that turns off with it
Sharing Perks need Product Telemetry, so they stop too. The Sharing Perks tab in Settings stays visible but greyed out.
- Beta Channel — you stop getting beta updates. You stay on the build you have and move back to stable with the next stable release; nothing is downgraded.
- Giveaway Ticket — your anonymous ticket stops checking in, so you are no longer entered into new ePOE giveaways. To claim a prize you already won, turn Product Telemetry back on and open Settings → Sharing Perks.
Turn it back on
Either:
- Settings → Privacy — switch Product Telemetry back on, or
- Settings → Sharing Perks — click Turn On Product Telemetry on the greyed-out tab.
Both do the same thing. Beta updates resume with the next update check, and your giveaway ticket checks in again within the next 90 minutes (at a random moment, so the check-in says nothing about when you started ePOE).
What exactly is collected
The full list — and what is never collected — is in the privacy policy: epoe.io/privacy#telemetry.
