Settings (the gear on the left rail) holds everything about the application itself. Overlay behaviour and hotkeys live on the Overlays page instead. Ten tabs, in order:

General
- Automatic updates and Launch at startup.
- Game window title — what ePOE attaches to. Only change it if your client's title differs from
Path of Exile 2; it takes effect on the next start. - Client.txt path — leave empty to auto-detect. Set it if trade whispers never show up.
- Monitor (multi-monitor setups only) — where the overlay goes when it is not attached. Auto (follow game) is right for most people.
- Screen reading — Automatic stash-open detection and Slot-hover OCR assistance, both bounded reads of small screen regions, plus Legacy Ctrl+Scroll Click.
Appearance
Overlay opacity, Text size, Interface scale, Density, Heading font, Reduce motion, Screen dim and the Attach toast, then a Colour theme accent. Per-widget overrides give any overlay window its own opacity and scale. Reset to defaults covers this tab only.
Connections
- Live Session — connect your pathofexile.com session for trade calls on your own rate limit.
- Discord Rich Presence — shows only whether ePOE is on the desktop or attached to the game.
- Discord webhook — post price alerts to your own channel.
Notifications
Which events notify you, and whether this PC shows toasts — covered in the last section of this guide.
Price checks
The tab most worth a visit. League and Realm decide where every search runs. Default roll range sets where each mod filter starts, as a percentage of its roll — lower it if checks come back empty. Life, resistances, speed and crit start 5 points tighter, and sockets search their exact value. The price panel's Roll range slider changes the same setting. Pre-select all stats, Show seller, API delay and Currency display tune the results. Under Behaviour: Restore clipboard, Close on game focus, Stash scroll (Left Alt+Scroll flips stash tabs) and Read Client.txt, which live whispers and zone tracking need. Quick Upgrade profiles lists profiles you imported and which one is the default.
Profiles
Snapshot your price-check, trade and behaviour settings under a name, then Activate it. Bind to league applies a profile automatically when you switch to that league. Hotkeys, league and session are never part of a profile.
Data
The league the bundled data targets and each bundled data file. Stale means the league ended or the data has not been refreshed yet — worth a look after a patch.
Privacy
Hide overlay from screen capture is streamer mode: ePOE stays visible to you but out of OBS, ShadowPlay and Game Bar. Product Telemetry is on by default: it shares anonymous, coarse feature-use and error events with item text and account names stripped, plus crash and uncaught-error reports from the overlay and the dashboard, so a problem can be fixed without you sending a log — each report is redacted first, with your user name, file paths and session tokens removed. A one-time notice on first launch says so. Switching Product Telemetry off here stops both immediately and discards anything still queued.
Changelog
Release notes for every version, with a link to the full changelog on the website.
The bell and desktop toasts
Two layers, and the difference matters:
- The bell in the title bar is your inbox — the same one as on epoe.io. It shows an unread count, the newest items, and Mark all read. Clicking an item marks it read and opens the page it is about.
- Desktop notifications are native operating-system toasts for the same events. The master switch, Play sound and Support ticket replies apply to this PC only.
What can notify you: Trade whispers (an incoming buy offer, read from Client.txt), Price alerts, Shop sold, Undercut, App updates and support replies. Which kinds you get is part of your account, so the website and the app always agree — turn one off in either place and it is off in both.
Nothing arriving? Check that Desktop notifications is on, that Read Client.txt is on under Price checks for whispers, and that your operating system's notification settings allow ePOE.
