The basic check — Ctrl+Alt+D, reading the listings, mod filters and Deduce — is covered in Price check and Deduce. This guide is the rest of the panel, and the hotkeys that feed it. Every hotkey here can be rebound under Overlays → Hotkeys. The ones marked unbound have no default: assign one there.
The three tabs
Every item opens on Price. Two more tabs sit next to it:
- Compare — loads your highest-level character from your linked Path of Exile account and diffs the hovered item against whatever it wears in that slot. Green is a gain (a higher property, or a mod the new item adds), red is a loss, dim mods are shared. If the item type has no equipment slot, or the slot is empty, the tab says so.
- Mods — the Modifier Overview: every mod the item's base can roll, split into Prefixes and Suffixes, with every tier's roll range, item level, affix name and spawn weight. Sort by ilvl or weight, search by affix or mod text, or pick another category from the dropdown to browse bases you aren't holding. It runs entirely from bundled data — no trade search.
Whittling readout
At the top of the Mods tab, the Omen of Whittling removes readout lists the item's explicit mods by modifier level and marks the lowest one — the mod your next Chaos Orb removes with the omen active. Fractured mods are flagged as never removable. It also shows the chance each mod has of going to an Orb of Annulment instead, which removes one at random.
Read it before you spend the omen. If the marked mod is one you want to keep, whittling is the wrong tool.
Currency and bulk prices: Market Value vs Live Exchange
Currency and the other things traded in bulk — Omens, essences, runes, fragments, gems, Verisium crests and the like — skip the item search. The panel shows two prices instead, and they answer different questions.
Market Value is the card at the top: the going rate for the league selected in ePOE, from ePOE's market cache. It shows the price in Divine or Exalted with its value in the other, the 24h and 7 Days change, a small price chart and the trade Volume. It loads on its own and never delays the live section. Read it as "what is this worth in this league".
Live Exchange sits under it: what the in-game currency exchange is offering right now, against Divine and Exalted Orbs, from your own machine.
- The big figure is the typical online offer right now — taken across the cheapest offers, weighted by stock. It is *not* the single cheapest offer, which is usually a handful of bait units nobody can actually buy in quantity.
- from … is that cheapest offer, next to how many offers the typical figure came from. The gap between the two tells you how deep the cheap end is.
- Thin market — not a reliable price appears when the live rate sits far from the Market Value because few people are offering that pair. Trust the Market Value card over the live rate then.
- Refresh exchange rate asks the exchange again.
Read them together. If Live Exchange agrees with Market Value, that is the price. If it is well below, you may have found a bargain — or a pair nobody trades.
Related currencies
Under the two prices, a Related list shows the item's siblings with their market prices: the other tiers of the same essence, the other Omens of the same family, and so on. It answers "is the next tier up worth the difference?" without a second check.
The market strip
For uniques, the panel header carries a small Market strip: the aggregate price from ePOE's market cache, its day-over-day change and a 7-day sparkline. It loads separately from the live search and never delays it. Rares and magic items have no market row, so the strip simply doesn't appear.
Use it as a sanity check. A live result far below the market strip is either a bargain or a listing with something wrong with it.
Price check variants
- Locked Price Check (unbound) — the same check, but the panel opens focused so you can click filters straight away without it hiding.
- Item Reference (unbound) — copies the item and shows its card with no trade search at all. Handy for reading a base or checking the Mods tab without using a search. Check price runs the search if you change your mind.
- Quick Upgrade (Ctrl+Alt+U) — searches for something better than the hovered item. See Quick Upgrade.
- Open Last Trade Search (unbound) — reopens your last price check's search on the trade site. Run a check first; with none it just tells you so.
Outside sites
- Open On PoE2 Wiki and Open On PoEDB (both unbound) copy the hovered item and open it on the Path of Exile 2 wiki or PoE2DB — by name for a unique, by base type for a rare. The item links on the price panel open the same PoE2 sites.
- Open Craft Of Exile (unbound) opens the Craft of Exile PoE2 simulator. It doesn't need an item.
Search Base In Stash
Hover an item and press Ctrl+Alt+S. ePOE copies it and pastes its base type (the name, for a unique) into the stash or vendor search box that is open in game. It never presses Enter. This is the fastest way to find every other copy of a base across a tab.
Picking what to bind
Most players only need four: Price Check, Quick Upgrade, Search Base In Stash and one outside site. Bind Locked Price Check if you often edit filters, and Item Reference if you craft and want the Mods tab without spending a search.
