Building the Strongest Juiced Maps in PoE2 0.5.5
Build your Atlas. Buy the right waystone. Stack premium Abyss tablets. A practical map-juicing tutorial with Instant Buyout searches and a complete Ulaman farming recipe.
Build a stronger map around one complete farming loop
Map juicing combines the Atlas passive tree, waystone modifiers, Precursor Tablets, and the encounters you complete inside the map. Their interaction can increase density, difficulty, and rewards, but there is no universal ten-times-loot multiplier. A stronger recipe is one your character can finish efficiently.
This guide uses a premium Abyss setup as its worked example: identified Rare Tier 16 waystones, rare Abyss tablets, and an 18-Abyss Unforeseen Consequences tablet. It targets Ulaman currency chests alongside rare-monster rewards. Expedition is not part of the recipe.
The four layers of map juicing
- Atlas: focus the Abyss branch, then take useful general map and tablet bonuses. Unlock the City tablet slot if you plan to use the four-tablet version.
- Waystone: buy Rare, identified T16s with strong reward modifiers and six explicit modifiers. Read each downside; modifier count does not guarantee a replacement waystone.
- Tablets: fill the available slots with a coherent combination. Tablets go directly into the device, and matching tablet types can be used together.
- Execution: use a layout you can clear comfortably, finish every pit, open the rewards, and complete worthwhile Depths and the map boss.
Choose a reward target before spending
Ulaman currency-chest farming and dedicated Omen farming use different priorities. Item Rarity and Monster Rarity are different modifiers, and more rare monsters do not automatically mean more chest rewards. The recipe below is a chest-and-monster hybrid; adjust it around the rewards you actually want rather than assuming one Atlas maximizes everything.
General Atlas priorities: sustain, rares, and tablets
Passive | Current role |
|---|---|
Pathkeepers | 15% increased quantity of waystones dropped by map bosses. |
Atop the World | 10% increased quantity of boss waystone drops, plus tower reveal radius. |
Eons of Contamination | Enables finding Irradiated Precursor Tablets; it does not directly add waystone drops. |
Rising Danger | 20% increased rare monsters. |
Adaptive Biology | Improves rare-monster modifier chance and maximum modifiers. |
Industrial Improvements | One additional tablet on eligible City maps; requires the relevant Atlas progression. |
Take the nodes that support your reward target and available unlocks. Rare-monster investment helps a monster farm, while chest farming needs its own scaling. Focus is useful, but neither a mandatory single-tablet-type rule nor a fixed penalty for splitting trees applies to every recipe.
Waystone preparation and optional extra difficulty
Buying an identified Rare T16 with the desired modifiers avoids repeated rolling. If you craft instead, upgrade the waystone to Rare and add modifiers using the applicable currency. Inspect the result before committing tablets. Corruption can change the item irreversibly and is not a guaranteed T16 or six-mod upgrade. Do not count on fixed replacement-drop percentages for four, five, or six modifiers.
Treat Irradiated as an optional area-level increase, not a required fourth tablet in every recipe. It increases the area monster level by one; preserve the tablet combination your reward target needs. This guide also avoids the old Distilled Greed/Paranoia three-dose recipe: current Liquid Emotion names and effects differ. Read the current item and device result before adding Deliriousness or another source of difficulty.
Choose an Atlas Master by its actual options
Jado is the default for the worked Abyss recipe below. Doryani can supply an additional revival through Stitch the Flesh, up to the stated cap. Hilda also supports rare monsters through Breeding Season and Expedition through Scarred Lands, so she is not restricted to boss farming. Activate the Master and tier choices that fit the next run, rather than assigning each Master one universal purpose.
There is no dependable ranking of every mechanic by Divines per hour for every character. Ritual, Breach, and Delirium can suit other builds and reward targets, but mixing investments without a clear purpose can make the resulting map slower. Compare complete batches under your own clear speed and current market prices.
BUILD THE MAP
Use an identified six-mod T16 waystone and fill the available tablet slots.
STACK THE ABYSS
Combine premium rare Abyss tablets with an 18-Abyss Overrun tablet.
FINISH THE RUN
Complete each pit, open its rewards, clear worthwhile Depths, and kill the map boss.
The map recipe
Selected map | Waystone | Tablet combination |
|---|---|---|
City map with four slots | Identified six-mod T16 | 3 premium Abyss tablets + 1 Unforeseen Consequences |
Ordinary map with three slots | Identified six-mod T16 | 2 premium Abyss tablets + 1 Unforeseen Consequences |
Six explicit waystone modifiers unlock three normal tablet slots. The fourth City slot requires Industrial Improvements on the Atlas tree. Tablets go directly into the map device alongside your waystone, and multiple tablets of the same type can be used together.
Step 1 — Buy your waystones and tablets
Every purchase search below is sorted by price and explicitly selects Instant Buyout. These are purchasable listings rather than an online-seller search. Sign in to your Path of Exile account to use the trade page. Inspect the actual listing, its modifiers, and its remaining tablet uses before purchasing.

Buy | Required modifiers | Instant Buyout link |
|---|---|---|
Premium Abyss Tablet | +3 Abyss rares; 30%+ map rare monsters; 13%+ effectiveness; doubled pit rewards; 10 uses. | |
Premium Abyss fallback | +3 Abyss rares; 25%+ map rare monsters; 10%+ effectiveness; 10 uses. | |
Unforeseen Consequences | 18 additional Abysses; unique Overrun tablet. | |
Tier 16 Waystone | Rare and identified T16; 50%+ Monster Rarity; 20%+ Pack Size; zero base revives. |
Premium rare Abyss tablets
For the main setup, look for this combination:
- 3 additional Rare Monsters spawned from Abysses in the map.
- 30% or more increased number of Rare Monsters in the map.
- 13% or more increased Monster Effectiveness.
- Abyss Pits twice as likely to have Rewards.
Shop the exact premium Abyss tablet combination
If the exact search has no stock, the broader search retains +3 Abyss rare monsters, at least 25% increased rare monsters, and at least 10% effectiveness. Inspect the fourth modifier yourself; the doubled pit-reward modifier is preferred for this version.

Unforeseen Consequences
This unique Abyss tablet makes the map Overrun by the Abyssal and adds 14–18 additional Abysses. Buy the maximum 18-Abyss roll for this setup.
Shop 18-Abyss Unforeseen Consequences tablets
Each unique tablet has one use. Bring a fresh one for every map. The rare tablets supply the repeatable scaling; this unique supplies the Overrun encounter density.
Tier 16 waystones
Buy identified Rare T16 waystones with at least six explicit modifiers. The linked search enforces this guide’s Monster Rarity and Pack Size targets. It does not replace reading the item’s individual downsides.
The linked search requires Rare rarity, identification, Tier 16, at least 50% Monster Rarity, at least 20% Pack Size, and zero base revives. The reward cutoffs are shopping targets for this setup, not official farming breakpoints. Zero revives is a restrictive selection filter, not a direct modifier-count filter; still count the modifiers on the item. You have no base revival margin with this selection before Atlas Master bonuses.
Monster Rarity and Item Rarity are different stats. The existing search targets the monster-density side of this hybrid setup. For a chest-focused variant, also compare Item Rarity on the waystone and tablets rather than treating higher Monster Rarity as chest rarity. Community chest-farm guides emphasize map/tablet Item Rarity; this is a separate optimization, not a claim that 50% Monster Rarity and 20% Pack Size maximize chest returns.
Step 2 — Choose the map layout
A waystone determines the tier and modifiers. The map selected on your Atlas determines the layout. Buying a T16 waystone does not buy a specific named map.
Map | When to run it |
|---|---|
Vaal City | The four-tablet City setup, once Industrial Improvements is allocated. |
Savannah | Open terrain with room to move around Abyss encounters. |
Steppe | A spacious alternative for clearing and repositioning. |
Sandspit | Wide coastal lanes for comfortable three-slot runs. |
Start with Vaal City for the four-slot version. Use Savannah, Steppe, or Sandspit for a comfortable three-slot run. Open layouts help you reach pits and give monsters room to approach without getting caught behind terrain.
These are layout recommendations, not a tested ranking of maximum Abyss-pit counts on every current map seed. Check the available biome and actual layout rather than spending premium tablets on a map you dislike clearing.
Step 3 — Configure the Atlas
Build around Abyss first, then support it with general rare-monster and tablet bonuses. Allocate the following according to your available points and progression unlocks:
Abyss passive | Role in the setup |
|---|---|
Balance of Power → Ulaman | Select Ulaman for eligible non-Fissure Abysses. With Strange Aversions, the faction choice differentiates chest types. |
Strange Aversions | Enables the faction-specific chest treatment: Ulaman may have Currency Chests. |
Rotting Bones | 25% increased chance to find Ancient Desecrated Currency. |
Lord of the Pit → Proliferation | Choose the scattered-pit option. Agitation is a separate effectiveness choice, not an additional bonus from Proliferation. |
From Below / Dark Depths | Adds pits or gives Abysses chances to contain additional pits. |
Sprawling Rupture | Increases monsters spawned by Abysses. |
Vile Treasures → Omens | Improves the chance of finding the selected Abyssal item category. |
Unholy Influence | Increases the chance of Abyssal and Lichborn modifiers. |
Close to the Surface | Carries waystone modifiers into Abyssal Depths and adds tablet-related Depths bonuses. |
Ghastly Relics — optional chest variant | Turns large pit chests into Abyssal Strongboxes; in 0.5.5 it covers all large pit chests, not only the final one. |
Choose one Lord of the Pit option
Proliferation scatters pits and is the choice used here. Agitation instead adds effectiveness as pits close. Extension instead adds a chance for another Abyss. These are separate choices; allocating the keystone does not grant all three.
Support the setup with rare monsters, tablet effect, Rogue Exiles, and Azmeri Spirits in the general tree. For City farming, allocate Industrial Improvements and the available City tablet-effect passives.
Step 4 — Select your Atlas Master
Use Jado, with Partial Translations selected, to gain additional effect from tablet explicit modifiers. Its effect varies; do not calculate the farm as though the maximum bonus is always active.
For a chest-oriented Jado setup, prioritize Trove Seekers in the first tier, Mysterious Gifts in the second, Partial Translations in the third, and Keen Appraisal in the fourth as unlocked. They respectively support rare chests, chances to find Cryptic Keys, tablet effect, and Exceptional Items. These are the Master descriptions, not a guarantee that every Abyss reward gets every bonus.
Step 5 — Open the map
- Select your intended map on the Atlas.
- Insert the identified six-mod T16 waystone.
- Confirm three normal tablet slots, or four on an eligible City map with Industrial Improvements.
- Insert three premium rare Abyss tablets for a four-slot City run, or two for a three-slot run.
- Insert one 18-Abyss Unforeseen Consequences tablet.
- Read the combined modifiers and check the available revivals.
- Activate the device and enter the map.
Fill the available tablet slots. Empty slots can introduce random league content, while full slots focus the map on the content supplied by your tablets. Do not add an Expedition tablet to this recipe.
Step 6 — Finish the pits
- Find a green pit and its surrounding fissures.
- Kill the nearby weakened monsters. Their deaths close the fissures toward the pit.
- Kill the reinforcements that emerge when the pit activates.
- Open the rewards that appear.
- Continue through the map and repeat until the encounters are complete.
Avoid leaving pits half-finished. Completing the encounter and opening its rewards are part of the farming loop. Keep moving between completed encounters rather than spending time fighting disconnected packs while a pit remains unfinished.
Abyssal Depths and the map boss
If the final Abyss opens Abyssal Depths, clear it when your build can handle the area. Close to the Surface carries waystone explicit modifiers into the Depths. It separately lets Abyss tablets grant the listed Depths bonuses: Abyssal/Lichborn modifier chance and Pack Size. Do not assume every surface-tablet affix transfers unchanged. Return to the surface if needed and finish the map boss.
If you are targeting Omens
Ulaman currency chests and dedicated Omen farming are different priorities. Shared Abyssal Omens can come from rare monsters carrying eligible Lichborn modifiers; an ordinary Abyss rare is not automatically an Omen source. If you switch to Amanamu and encounter Amanamu’s Void, kill the monster outside its cloud for the shared Omen pool. Killing inside the cloud instead targets Omen of the Liege. Do not add a claimed fixed number of Omens per monster to your profit forecast.
Prepare a ten-map batch
Supply | Four-slot City maps | Three-slot ordinary maps |
|---|---|---|
Suitable six-mod T16 waystones | 10 | 10 |
Premium rare Abyss tablets, each with 10 uses | 3 | 2 |
18-Abyss Unforeseen Consequences tablets | 10 | 10 |
Keep the rare tablets while they retain uses and replace the unique Overrun tablet every run. Preparing a batch removes repeated shopping interruptions and makes it easier to compare your results across similar maps.
Common mistakes that weaken the run
- Buying partially used tablets without checking the remaining charges.
- Expecting four City slots without Industrial Improvements.
- Selecting Unexpected Missions while trying to preserve a particular layout.
- Buying a strong reward roll with downsides that dramatically slow the build.
- Leaving pits unfinished or forgetting to open the rewards.
- Treating a valuable drop from one map as a dependable per-map return.
Other mechanics: choose a different complete loop
The following alternatives explain what each farm is scaling. They are not a profit ranking, and they do not belong in the Abyss recipe above unless you deliberately change the setup.
Grand Expedition — optional Remnant progression
Feeling Lucky? lets Farrow sell Liquid Verisium. Its current item description starts a Runic Remnant encounter with a random inscription. Double or Nothing offers a choice affecting how later Remnants gain Runic modifiers; the extra-modifier choice has a 25% chance. Strategic Advantage offers faster continuation or monsters spawning with more life missing. Neither passive removes damage immunities or other build-breaking Remnant modifiers.
The Quest Continues gives Grand Expeditions an additional area level and permits up to three modifiers. This does not establish a universal best farming tier. Read Remnant modifiers before starting; compare results against tablet and reroll costs. Grand Expeditions can have unavailable tablet slots, so follow the actual device restrictions instead of forcing the normal three-tablet map recipe.
Ritual — Tribute, Favours, and rerolls
Complete the Ritual encounters, inspect the offered Favours, and use Tribute for purchases, deferrals, or rerolls. Tempting Offers adds one reroll. Freedom of Faith allows twice as many rerolls but raises Favour Tribute costs by 10–15%; it is not unlimited rerolling or a guaranteed Omen payout. Improve the reward system you actually use and avoid increasing encounter difficulty beyond your build.
Ritual returns depend on the Favours offered, the Tribute available, and what the items sell for. Complete several runs before valuing a reroll setup, and keep enough Tribute to defer a valuable reward when you cannot buy it immediately.
Breach — Hiveblood and the Genesis Tree
Farm Hiveblood and Wombgifts, then use the Genesis Tree in the Monastery of the Keepers. The tree crafts currency and jewellery, with choices that change the outputs. Catalysts are obtained through this system rather than treated as direct monster drops. Configure the relevant Womb before spending your resources and value the resulting items after crafting.
For a dedicated farm, take the Hiveblood, Wombgift, and crafting-output bonuses that fit the chosen reward. Start a batch at a tier your build clears comfortably; neither low-budget suitability nor a particular hourly return is universal. An Irradiated tablet can raise area level, but it uses a slot that could otherwise support the chosen encounter.
Delirium and Breach combinations — test the extra time
Delirium adds another difficulty and reward layer. Its current Atlas choices include fog progression, Liquid Emotions, and Simulacrum access; some bonuses require the relevant progression unlocks. Recurring Nightmares offers additional Deliriousness or fog spreading to extra maps. Pick one option rather than assuming both apply.
Combining Breach and Delirium is a deliberate mixed setup, not automatically a mistake. Compare the extra rewards against longer clear time, deaths, and tablet opportunity cost. Keep it only when a complete batch improves your actual results. Budget from the items you will consume rather than a universal entry price.
Measure the currency loop without fixed exchange rates
Prepare ten maps and record waystone cost, rare-tablet cost per consumed use, unique-tablet cost, crafting currency, run time, and saleable rewards. Compare net returns after those costs. Use current Forbidden Rites prices when converting currency; a historical Exalted-to-Divine ratio is not a reliable budget. With a large budget, prioritize successful completion and time efficiency over spending more on every modifier.
